About Tar Bar

Filters have been in the marketplace for decades. For example, President Roosevelt was often photographed using an extended, tapered filter while smoking. He wanted the benefit of a filter while still enjoying smoking. Although most US brands of cigarettes did not have ‘built-in’ filters, this gradually changed over time, so that today, most brands contain a filter as part of the manufacturing process. There are only a few exceptions.

Why TARBAR?

Loss of flavor/taste, difficulty in drawing, and inconvenience due to size, cleaning, etc., have been negative factors associated with this smoking accessory in the past. As a result, filters have had difficulty gaining widespread acceptance among smokers. Tar Bar Disposable Filters is designed to address these issues and positively.

Why the Tarbar Filter is Clear

The TARBAR filter, before use, is intentionally clear (made of plastic). Smoking cigarettes is recognized as being dangerous to one’s health. To emphasize this reality, the TARBAR filter, as used, becomes almost completely black due to the filtering process. Smokers can visibly see what goes into their bodies when smoking, and hopefully, this visual awareness might help to act as a deterrent to their smoking habit.
